Improve City Infrastructure Quality by Organizing Chaotic Cables

The Jakarta Government continues to improve the quality of the city's infrastructure, one of which is by organizing the cables in Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta.

What is currently being done in Kebayoran Baru

Besides Kebayoran Baru, intensive discussions regarding cable management were also underway and targeting nine other locations.

"What is currently being done in Kebayoran Baru. But, next week, we will hold a special meeting regarding the Integrated Utility Network System (SJUT)," expressed Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, in Srengseng City Forest, Kembangan, West Jakarta, Tuesday (6/24).

He emphasized his desire for as many utility cables in Jakarta as possible to be undergrounded. This improvement would be conducted gradually due to the high costs involved.

"It will continue to run later. We can't use all of our City Budget (APBD) funds for this renovation because the costs are quite high," he expressed.

Aside that, the Jakarta Government wouls also improve the sidewalks to be friendly for people with disabilities and pedestrians. New sidewalk construction, such as in Blok M, was also executed by providing facilities for people with disabilities.

"The main concern should actually be the disabled, not pedestrians," he closed.
